Running Resources

There are a lot of resources available out there for runners, even lazy ones. 🙂

Below is a list of a few things that have been helpful for me. I’ll keep adding to this page as I discover new ones.

RunKeeper – http://runkeeper.com/
RunKeeper lets you track your runs, walks, and other fitness activities with your iPhone or Android device. I’ve been using RunKeeper for several years now and use it to track all my runs, bike rides, and even walks. It gives you a detailed history, plus access to data like average pace, elevation changes, and more.

Active.com – http://www.active.com/
Active.com is loaded with articles about running. Everything from starting out, to breathing techniques, to helping with common running injuries. If you’re looking for lots of information about running, this is a good place to start.

Cool Running – http://www.coolrunning.com/
Cool Running is a great resource for beginning runners. It has a lot of good programs including the now famous Couch-to-5K® Running Plan. I didn’t use that plan personally, but I saw many of my friends on Facebook post about it and it was a good motivator for me. Cool Running also has thousands of listings to help you find local races to participate in.
